We are a part of a new national Christian network that connects church members who want to donate used items with local families who need those items…and connects those who want to do volunteer work with local ministries who could use their help. This is not about writing a check, it’s about taking time to serve those in need – it’s about making our church a place that loves and cares for those around us. The direct connections we make will allow us to do more than just meet someone’s material needs; it will allow us to demonstrate God’s love to someone who may really need to understand that they matter to Him.

 

The way it works is very simple. If you have a used clothes, books, toys, infant or maternity items, etc. that you want to give away, you’ll be able to search for local families who need those exact same things. Or if you have time to volunteer simply search for opportunities within our church or with other local ministries that fit your skills and interests. After you select the family or ministry you want to help, you’ll be given their phone number to contact them and arrange a time to deliver the item or provide the (free) service.

 

Many people bring a Bible or devotional book along to give to those families and many have the opportunity to use their phone conversations and visits with those families to explain that it was God’s love expressed through Jesus Christ that motivated them to reach out to help. Just the fact that you have taken time out to give to someone in need has a real impact on that person’s life.
